The stop light or brake light is located at the rear of the car and is activated by a switch not far from the brake pedal, which is activated when the driver presses the brake.
The main task of the stoplight is of course to signal to drivers behind you that your vehicle is slowing down, so that they in turn can adjust their speed accordingly.
